Embarking on the design journey for children is truly a privilege, allowing me to loosen the reins of my graphic design training and delve into the enchanting realm of youthful wonder. Understanding what ignites excitement for both kids and parents when planning an outing has been an enlightening experience.
In the context of a specific series of social media and web graphics, I aimed to craft something visually compelling and engaging. Teaming up with the creative director, we conceptualized an illustrative tribute to the museum's Great Gravity Clock. This involved distilling classic scientific objects into recognizable geometric shapes. I adhered to the museum's color palette to achieve visual harmony, infusing a playful twist with primary colors.
Armed with these illustrations, I meticulously fashioned multiple seamless patterns for our promotional efforts, employing collage principles. The focal point of the graphics became an anthropomorphic otter, donning glasses and holding a sign, exuding a blend of eagerness and amiability. The result is a lively burst of color and charm that is sure to captivate both children and parents, visiting the museum an enticing prospect.
